Ze flikken het gewoon weer: Radiohead komt, ondanks wat verwachtingen op de Twitters her en der, vrijwel uit het niets met de bekendmaking van hun nieuwe album: The King of Limbs. Net als in oktober 2007, toen In Rainbows opeens bestond. Je kunt het achtste, wederom door Nigel Godrich geproduceerde Radiohead-album nu bestellen via een speciale website, maar je zult nog tot aanstaande zaterdag (19 februari) geduld moeten hebben voordat je het het nieuwe werkstuk kunt downloaden. Update 13.01 uur: vanaf 28 maart ligt The King of Limbs al als reguliere cd- of vinyl uitgave in de winkels, via XL Recordings.
Met een droog 'Thank You For Waiting' zorgde Radiohead deze Valentijnsmaandagmorgen voor een explosie op het wereldwijde web. En wat wil je ook, over vijf dagen horen we nieuw Radiohead-werk. Het album is te bestellen voor 36 euro (39 euro als je de plaat in WAV-kwaliteit wilt downloaden) en bevat twee 10" vinyl-platen, een cd en uitgebreid artwork.
Voor mensen die niks hebben met fysieke releases is er ook een puur digitale versie beschikbaar voor slechts zeven euro (elf euro voor WAV-bestandjes). Vanaf 9 mei worden de fysieke platen en cd's verstuurd. En nu even bijkomen...
